What is cambridge blues?

Cambridge Blues refers to sports teams made up of students representing the University of Cambridge in various sports. These teams are known as the Cambridge University sports clubs and are often referred to as just "the Blues." The term "Blues" originates from the dark blue color of Cambridge University's sporting kit.

The Blues teams compete against their counterparts from other universities, particularly Oxford University, in annual varsity matches. The most famous annual event between the two is the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race, which takes place on the River Thames in London.

Cambridge has a long history of sporting success, and the Blues teams have won numerous varsity matches and national championships over the years. The Blues teams are made up of a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional sporting ability in their field.

There are over 30 sports clubs affiliated with the Blues, including rugby, cricket, football (soccer), hockey, rowing, athletics, and more. There is also a Women's Blues team which competes in various sports. The Blues teams are not funded by the University of Cambridge and rely on alumni donations and fundraising events to support themselves.
